Greetings,

Welcome to a new year in SWAFS.  I would like to welcome President Elect, Alex Madrigal, and Board Members Tamara Keller and Roger Metcalf.  I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to outgoing Board Members, Sarah Skiles, and Dan Hedges, for their dedication and service to our organization.  There are not enough words to thank outgoing Chairman of the Board, Brandy Reese.  She has served the organization well and will be hard to replace. 

I hope everyone had a wonderful time at the Houston conference.  There were many great speakers and wonderful training opportunities.  Many thanks are extended to Kay McClain and her Committee for a job well done.  The 2012 meeting will be held in Scottsdale, AZ and promises to be another great training conference. 
SWAFS is a professional organization that offers training and wonderful networking possibilities for any forensic analyst.  I am urging all members to become more involved by  instructing a class,  submitting a journal article, joining a committee, running for a board position, hosting a meeting, and most importantly voting for officers and organizational issues.  We need every members input to continue to provide excellent training and resources in this ever changing profession.
Let’s have a great year and I hope to see everyone in Scottsdale.
